Metal Products Manufacturers — Contract Metal Fabrication and Parts Producers

Metal products manufacturing encompasses fabrication, machining, casting, forming, and finishing of metal components and assemblies for commercial, industrial, and consumer applications. The process required depends on the geometry, tolerance, material, and production volume of your component. Casting suits complex geometries at volume. Machining achieves precision tolerances on finished or near-net-shape starting material. Sheet metal fabrication suits enclosures and structural components. Matching your component to the correct metalworking process is the first qualification step. This page lists metal products manufacturers. Use the filters to compare by metal type, process, certifications, and location.

What to Look for in a Metal Products Manufacturer

Metal products manufacturing quality depends on matching your component requirements to the correct metalworking process and a manufacturer with documented capability in that process. These three criteria address the most important qualification requirements.

Process Selection and Capability for Your Component

Die casting, investment casting, sand casting, CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, extrusion, and forging each produce different surface finish, dimensional accuracy, and structural characteristics in the finished part. Die casting produces high volumes of net-shape or near-net-shape parts with good surface finish. CNC machining achieves the tightest dimensional tolerances. Investment casting produces complex geometry with good surface finish at medium volumes. A manufacturer operating primarily in one metalworking process will not achieve optimal results for applications requiring a different process. Confirm the correct production process for your component before engaging any metal manufacturer, and evaluate manufacturers with specific capability in that process.

Material Expertise and Certification

Metal alloy selection significantly affects the mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, weight, and cost of the finished component. Steel, aluminum, stainless steel, copper, brass, titanium, and specialty alloys each have different processing requirements and cost profiles. Material certificates confirming alloy composition and mechanical properties to applicable standards such as ASTM, SAE, or EN are standard deliverables expected by industrial buyers. Confirm your manufacturer sources from certified material suppliers and can provide material certificates for each production lot.

Surface Finishing and Post-Processing Capability

Most metal components require post-processing to achieve the required surface finish, corrosion protection, or dimensional accuracy. Anodizing, powder coating, electroplating, passivation, shot blasting, and precision grinding are among the most common post-processing operations. These may be performed in-house or by qualified subcontractors. Confirm your manufacturer has a documented supply chain for all required post-processing operations and can maintain quality oversight over subcontracted finishing operations.

Key Certifications for Metal Products Manufacturing

Metal products certifications address quality system compliance, material standards, and industry-specific requirements.

ISO 9001 quality management certification is expected from metal products manufacturers in supply chain roles. AS9100 is required for aerospace metal components. IATF 16949 is required for automotive supply chain manufacturing. ISO 13485 is required for medical device metal components. NADCAP certification is required for special processes including heat treatment and non-destructive testing in aerospace applications. RoHS compliance is relevant for metal components used in electronic assemblies.
